Light

Light me a light any kind of light,
Just shine its beam into my darkest night,
For like a child I stay up in fright,

So light me a light any light tonight.

Candlelight, moonlight any light is just right,

For in that light I might find my might!
Don’t sing me a song, don’t hold me tight,

Just light me a light, any light tonight.

Light me a light to assist my sight,

Just my naked eye darkness cannot fight,

So before darkness gets a chance to bite,
Light me a light any kind of light.

Flickering, glaring or outright bright,

I don’t care what kind just light me a light,

All I need is darkness away tonight,

So light me a light any kind of light.

Preâmbulo roubado de lanças

Preâmbulo roubado de lanças
Que furam as pálpebras impondo
A primeira luz

O dia entra na cidade pelo lado do rio
Estilhaçando as vidraças que nos protegiam
no escuro
Reviram-se as torres de carne
à procura de quem ficou na noite
Queimam no chão os restos frios
de quem amou, de quem acabou de acabar

Logo pela manhã enquanto as pessoas sobem e descem
a rua roubada

teimo contigo de que te amo mais
do que aquilo que possas compreender.

How often we forget all time, when lone

Admiring Nature's universal throne;

Her woods... her wilds... her mountains... the intense

Reply of Hers to Our intelligence!

Imitation

"A dark unfathomed tide
Of interminable pride--
A mystery, and a dream,
Should my early life seem;
I say that dream was fraught
With a wild and waking thought
Of beings that have been,

Which my spirit hath not seen,
Had I let them pass me by,
With a dreaming eye!
Let none of earth inherit
That vision on my spirit;
Those thoughts I would control,
As a spell upon his soul:
For that bright hope at last

And that light time have past,
And my wordly rest hath gone
With a sigh as it passed on:
I care not though it perish
With a thought I then did cherish."

Deixar-te cair

Deixar-te cair.

Deixar-te cair
Para que renasças
Em ti,
E só para ti.

Afastar-me do teu caminho
Tirar os dedos que te tapavam a boca
Com mel e escuridão,
Para que respires
E que no teu respirar
Encontre restos do que foi o meu.

A tua paz será sempre a minha paz.

O teu viver iluminará
Um mundo melhor que o meu
Sei que sou apenas o que de mortal
tem a sombra
Que teu sol projecta.
Nascerás sempre

Mesmo que não seja para mim.

"A dream within a dream"

Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow-

You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar

Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand

Grains of the golden sand-

How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep- while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

"From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were; I have not seen
As others saw; I could not bring
My passions from a common spring."

(Autumn)

"Sweet berries ready for two ghosts are no different than you. Ghosts are now waiting for you. Are you... Dreaming! Dreaming the night! Dreaming all right!..."

"A Dream"

In visions of the dark night
I have dreamed of joy departed-
But a waking dream of life and light
Hath left me broken-hearted.

Ah! what is not a dream by day
To him whose eyes are cast

On things around him with a ray
Turned back upon the past?

That holy dream- that holy dream,
While all the world were chiding,
Hath cheered me as a lovely beam
A lonely spirit guiding.

What though that light, thro' storm and night,
So trembled from afar-
What could there be more purely bright
In Truth's day-star?
